Our former president Cory Aquino has rested already from its cancer illness at 3:18AM this Saturday at the age of 76.

Mrs Aquino who was the first lady president of the Philippines was suffering from colon cancer since March 2008. She underwent chemotherapy but seems the medication failed because there were reports that the cancer had spread already into the other parts of her body.

Several days ago, people showed their support by offering prayers for the recovery of the former president. However, according to Rev Suarez, Mrs Aquino requested to pray not for her recovery but for her rest.

The current president, GMA, has declared a 10-day national mourning period for the former president. Then on military camps all over the Philippines flown the flag a half-mast today to honor the resting president.
